What is Allgreen Eggfest?
Eggfest is a celebration of grilling! Cooking teams create delicious sides, meats, and desserts for tastings. Tasters have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cooking team. The crowd favorite will win a prize as well as the title, “The Most Eggcellent Chef”. Cooks and tasters alike are encouraged to share techniques, tips, and recipes for cooking on the Big Green Egg. Enjoy cooking demonstrations throughout the day, and live entertainment. Vendors will be on site with grilling-related gifts. Enjoy delicious drinks from local partners.
This year’s event benefits The Lighthouse Foundation. The Lighthouse Foundation operates the largest food pantry in Butler County and is the sole provider of transitional and interim housing for young adults, single parents, and families in its service area. They promote individuals and families towards self-sufficiency through faith based job training, financial literacy for low income families, cooking classes, and connections to reliable vehicles. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Lighthouse Foundation saw a dramatic increase in the need for food, and stepped up to serve over 300 households weekly through their food pantry program. We are thrilled to have them as our neighbors here in Middlesex Township.
Rather than the full Eggfest for 2022, we’ve switched gears and will be hosting a Demo Day with our Eggsperts on Saturday, September 24th. Stay tuned for details about Eggfest 2023!
